About Us
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) establishes environmental thresholds for Lake Tahoe to help preserve our environment. TRPA leads long range planning for the transportation system, funds projects through the Regional Grant Program, and convenes stakeholder groups to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and progress. To learn more about how to get involved, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or sign up for our monthly e-newsletter.
The Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) is the regional transportation entity responsible for implementing cross-jurisdictional projects, plans, and transit services. TTD works closely with TRPA, the U.S. Forest Service, local counties, the City of South Lake Tahoe, the Nevada and California State Departments of Transportation, as well as local Tahoe non-profits, private businesses, and advocacy groups to improve transportation at Lake Tahoe.
The work of local organizations and agencies include: building and funding complete street projects; running public transit, private shuttles and water taxis; keeping our paths free of snow during winter; and supporting creative solutions to provide access through many modes of transportation.
